One Minute Lesson (Lesson 3)

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. (2 Corinthians 1:8 NIV)

Lesson:

There's no shame in suffering. We can bring and share it before others, even those who may use it to sneer at us. Why? Because Christian suffering is a privilege to share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ - as we patiently wait for his deliverance through the situation. And most importantly it is the way we get close to God as we grow to depend on him and enjoy his immediate comfort as the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.

Incarnation and Modernity

[The Bible] resituate modernity's prejudices within a wider context from which they were originally wrenched, showing them to be reductive heresies of a more complex biblical reality. Beverly Knight closed the opening ceremony of the Paralympics with what has been dubbed the signature tune of the Paralympics. I had no idea Ms Knight is still in the singing business. And clearly going by the raving reviews she will continue to be around.
